Strada opened in 2021 during the height of the pandemic and thrived in spite of the obstacles. Since then Strada has grown and is now serving everyone face to face, the way we like it! We continue to serve our customers from our antique espresso machine, bringing a little piece of history into every cup.
As a business, we recognize the importance of slowing down and face-to-face, personal relationships. We have been graciously welcomed into Camrose and we strive to extend the same warm welcome to each of our customers, so all can enjoy our space to its fullest potential!
Our goal is to be a place where memories are made, centred around handcrafted coffees and specialty drinks, paired with great food that features both the talent of local chefs and local producers.
Chef Madison knew from a young age that cooking was her passion. This passion for cooking lead her to complete her studies at SAIT in Professional Cooking & Baking and Pastry Arts, graduating at the top of her classes. After completing her degrees she continued on to work under many talented chefs such as Ryan O'flynn at The Guild, and Chris Stewart at Mission Hill Winery, eventually obtaining her journeyman ticket.
Throughout the years Chef Madison has competed in various cooking competitions such as Skills Canada Alberta Culinary Arts at post secondary level, and Taste of the Heartland.
After broadening her skills she decided to move back to Camrose and further her career a few years later by opening Strada with her family. Chef Madison is so thrilled to be able to share her expertise and passion with those of the Camrose community, while also working close alongside other talented chefs and family.
Meet Chef Tyson Wright, of Camrose Alberta. Tyson has been working in the food and beverage industry for 22 years! He has traveled Canada, whilst working under and alongside some of the most talented and influential chefs that this country has to offer. Chef Tyson completed and graduated his trade from N.A.I.T. in 2015, at the top of his class, obtaining both his Journeymen ticket and Canadian Red Seal.
Tyson’s approach to cooking, is both simple and sophisticated, focusing on a prairie to Plate concept, offering the most local and fresh ingredients on his menus, while supporting local farmers and agriculture. Chef Tyson believes that the best quality and most valuable foods are grown as close to home as possible; our prairies have so much to offer, and often get overlooked.
Throughout the years, Tyson has competed in various competitions around Canada, including Food Network Canada’s “Firemasters”, Alberta’s Taste of the Heartland “Signature Chef”, and a handful of black box challenges and cookoffs.
Sandra is one of our owners here at Strada. She grew up within the community of Camrose, and has many fond memories growing up here. Sandra has always had a passion for design which lead her to study at NAIT, eventually receiving a degree in interior design. She spent many years within the Camrose community honing her design skills and eventually opening her own store, Studio 49, right here in historic downtown Camrose.
After a number of years in the business she decided to make a change closing Studio 49 and helping her two daughters, Madison & Brynn, open Strada. She brings her many years of experience in business and design to her roles here at Strada, and is thrilled to be able to work along side her daughters while they pursue their passion.
Brynn wears many hats here at Strada—from being a highly trained barista & pastry chef all the way to being a talented social media marketer. Harnessing her passion for creativity, Brynn has found a home at Strada— bringing her skills for art and design cultivated during her time at Mount Royal University to all the roles she occupies at the shop.
